In conjunction with World Turtle Day, Badan Warisan Malaysia decided to collaborate with two young sisters, Yi Xuan and Yu Jing, to produce a month-long exhibition at Badan Warisan Malaysia on turtles.

The exhibition features paintings and drawings from the book I Love Sea Turtles, which Yi Xuan and Yu Jing were inspired to create after watching sea turtles laying eggs. Fifteen-year-old Yi Xuan wrote the book, while 11-year-old Yu Jing provided the illustrations.

The exhibition will run from now until 13 June at Badan Warisan Malaysia, and will be open from 10am to 5pm. Come check out the adorable artwork!

If you'd like to learn more about turtle conservation in Malaysia, check out the ongoing efforts of the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia. Turtles used to frequent the East Coast beaches of Malaysia, but numbers fell due to pollution and poaching. However, efforts to protect them are slowly starting to bear fruit: in March 2017, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu reported that hawksbills were making a comeback to Rantau Abang. Save the turtles!
