Held for the first time, the Rainforest Fringe Festival is meant to be a prelude to the Rainforest World Music Festival (14-16 July) and offers the best of Sarawakian art, crafts, music, fashion, food, film and photography. You'll find paintings and photography exhibitions (7 July onwards) as well as film screenings (daily from 8 July) at The Old Court House, while the Kuching Amphitheatre will feature the Sada Kamek: Music of Sarawak concert by Sarawakian musical talents on 9 July.
You'll also have the opportunity to listen to talks about Charles Hose and Alfred Wallace, two British explorers and naturalists who were instrumental in discovering new flora and fauna. Don't miss out on the craft and vintage market either for the chance to take home some handicrafts!
