It’s time to get cracking! In conjunction with World Egg Day on 13 October, Avenue K has a whole clutch of egg-inspired activities, workshops, showcases and more planned for shoppers to enjoy.
The campaign, which runs from 7 September to 1 October, aims to highlight the health benefits of eggs with events such as a Premia Eggs showcase, daily Astaxanthin egg tastings, cooking, baking and food art workshops, along with cooking demonstrations by chefs from Premia and the Sugarcraft Baking and Culinary Academy.
Kids aged 4-12 will love the free workshops, which include egg sculpture crafting, egg painting, baking and food decorating. And at 10am on 8 September, popular TV chef Zubir Zain will present some egg-based dishes.
The highlight of the campaign is the 388 egg sculptures that dot the Ground Floor Atrium and other spots in the shopping mall. Each egg was individually designed and painted by art school students, members of the mall management team, tenants, artists, media friends and more.
Fallen in love with one of the egg artworks? You can ‘adopt’ the sculptures at a starting price of RM30 each. Graffiti artist Kenji Chai has also created a series of 1ft limited edition egg sculptures, and you can bid on your favourites through an online auction on his Facebook. All proceeds will go to Charity Right Malaysia’s ‘Feed to Educate’ programme.
If you’re heading to Avenue K to shop on the weekend, the number to remember is 388. Spend RM388 or more over two combined receipts on the same day at any AK store to redeem a 1ft egg sculpture from the Information Counter. Check out Avenue K’s website for more details.
