Organised by the Australian High Commission, the Australian Food Trail is a campaign aimed at showcasing modern Australian cuisine. From now until 26 May, 14 Malaysian restaurants and cafés will be offering their interpretation of Australian dishes using fresh Australian produce. Each of these eateries has an affiliation to Australia either via culinary influence or even Australian expats involved in local food businesses.
The 14 participating venues are:
- Bon Ton
- Breakfast Thieves
- Burps and Giggles
- China House, Penang
- Common Man Coffee Roasters
- Drift Dining
- Enak KL
- Indulgence Restaurant
- Marble 8
- Ruyi & Lin
- Southern Rock Seafood Restaurant
- The Red Beanbag
- Toowoomba Deli and Meats
In conjunction with the launch of the campaign, the Australian High Commission in Malaysia is running a social media competition offering diners the chance to win two return flights from Kuala Lumpur to Perth courtesy of Malindo Air.
All you need to do is to visit one of the participating outlets listed above, order their special ‘Australian Meal’, take a picture of your order and share it across Facebook with the hashtag #MYOzFood and the tag @AusinMalaysia. Consolation prizes include health screening vouchers from Gribbles Pathology.
