It's the end of the year as we know it...

And what a year it’s been – particularly in the international arena but as we all read and watch the news relentlessly, let’s not get into it and depress ourselves! Instead let’s focus on the here and now, and be grateful for family and friends and the ability to live a relatively peaceful life.

The festive season is nigh and as with every end of the year, we all go through a barrage of emotions from melancholy and excitement to relief and “thank [insert favourite expletive] it’s the end of the year!”

In this, our last issue of the year, we meet four fantastic families and get to know what Christmas means to them and how all of them have their unique ways of celebrating. The shoot was very interesting, as it always is especially with pets and children! Attention spans were short and some childless people’s nerves were mildly frayed but the end result was worth all the unwrapping of fake presents and redecorating the tree.

What’s a festive issue without copious amounts of turkey and mince pies? It’s time to plan for Christmas and if you’re not planning to make your own, there are thankfully many options at eateries around town for turkey and all the trimmings. So eat well, drink up and worry about next year...next year! If anyone has visitors in town, we have a succinct guide to KL from street eats and where to indulge in everything from exotic cocktails to historical buildings.

From next year we’ll be focusing on getting all our content to you via the website. As we all know, digital publishing and social media is the best and quickest way to get information, and we want to be at the forefront of this.

As always, feel free to get in touch via email or through Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram. We’re always open to suggestions (good ones only) and would like to hear from you.

Enjoy the magazine, happy Christmas and merry New Year!
