Incubators, disruptive technology, seed...what does it all mean? For some this jargon is normal business speak; for others it can be a bit of a mystery.

This month, we meet four very different people who have started and run businesses catering to consumer needs utilising digital platforms, technology and lots of determination. Claire, Lais, Fabian and Pawel have all created startups catering to our housing, workspace, healthy food delivery and beauty appointment needs respectively – and their stories are fascinating.

September is the month of the Mid-Autumn Festival so mooncakes are out in full force. If you’ve never had one, check out our comprehensive guide to this annual celebration and the many types of mooncake available. Needless to say, we had to try them all and diets were ruined.

After all the mooncake tasting, HIIT workouts were on the agenda – from one extreme to another – that’s how we roll! Several sessions later, it was unanimously decided that if you want to get fit, spend minimum time in the gym and feed the competitive beast within, HIIT is definitely for you.

We also talk about your next holiday destination of Sabah and Sarawak and introduce alternative neighbourhoods for you to consider moving to.

Thank you for voting in the Best of Malaysia awards! Winners will be announced next month. In the meantime, don’t forget to take part in our readers’ survey as we would like to get to know you better. You also stand a chance to win exclusive prizes from us so that should be encouragement enough!

Feel free to get in touch via email or through Facebook. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram to see what we’re up to. We’re always open to suggestions and hearing what you would like to see in the magazine.
