The Best Of Malaysia Awards results are here! For weeks we scoured the country in search of the best boutique hotel, family stay, shopping experience and much more. We put it to the public vote and while some of the results were expected, there were a few surprises.

Malaysia is one of those countries which actually offers something for every visitor, and that’s not just guidebook spiel.

Everything from ancient tropical jungles and private islands with gorgeous resorts to UNESCO Heritage sites and excellent dining options are available here, all at pretty reasonable prices (especially with the exchange rates now). Have a look at our winners and plan your next weekend break and fancy dinner.

As always, we have a cracker of a food feature as our associate editor Karin went on a whirlwind tour of the best high teas in the city.

Many scones and cakes later, she came up with a definitive list of where to go for the best selection of dainty pastries and all the little nibbles that make this a popular weekend blowout.

We have a carpet expert offering advice on all the different types of beautiful floor coverings you can have to enhance your living space, as well as how to upkeep them. We’re not talking about just any old carpets either, but stunning handcrafted pieces from Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, performing arts is the focus of our education feature so check out which schools offer the best programmes for your Broadway star in the making.

As always, feel free to get in touch via email or through Facebook, and follow us on Twitter and Instagram. We’re always open to suggestions (good ones only) and would like to hear from you.
