Now, more than ever, people in their 40’s are exploring and enjoying life more. People recognise that now is the time to seize the opportunity to live their dream and dedicate their time doing things they enjoy. Vision should not be a barrier to experiencing happy moments in life.
One common concern as we mature is that people begin experiencing presbyopia, which is a normal loss of near-focusing vision that makes it hard to read small fonts and fine details. But, days of sharp eyesight are not behind you. Thanks to advancements in technology, the 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® Brand Multifocal Contact Lenses can help. These multifocal contact lenses are designed specifically for people with presbyopia to ensure they continue to enjoy clear vision and the freedom of contact lenses well into their 40s and beyond.
1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® Brand Multifocal Contact Lenses are the first ever multifocal lens with a design inspired by the function and structure of the aging eye. This new and innovative Eye-Inspired™ Design specifically matches your eye’s changing needs for a clearer vision. Plus, LACREON® Technology locks in a wetting agent for all day comfort.
Let’s hear a bit more about using multifocal contact lenses from the lead optometrist and Managing Director of Vision Space, Woon Pak Seong.

Why use multifocal contact lenses?
Back in the day, multifocal contacts were very new. Customers were reluctant to try it out and there was no option of even a trial fitting. Today, better performance multifocal lenses are more accessible.
Multifocal lenses are better suited for people with presbyopia because manufacturers have studied different eye types and prescriptions to design a lens with the best performance to suit individual prescriptions, rather than a one-lens-size-fits-all model. Some even offer internationally-recognised standards of UV protection.
The most important reason, however, is that you enjoy all the benefits of clear vision from your younger days without any inconvenience and discomfort. You can continue all the activities you love without being held back by deteriorating eyesight.
How do you choose multifocal contact lenses?
Multifocal contact lenses aren’t the same as normal lenses. As with all contact lenses, they cannot be bought just off the shelf, the wearer must try the multifocal contact lenses and there may be a need to have them fine-tuned in a closely customised experience.
Find an eye care professional to assess if your eyes are suitable for these types of lenses. They need to measure the curve of your eye and check if your prescription is suitable. Then they need to see how the lens fits in your eye and whether it’s too tight or too loose.
What are some good eye health practices for contact lenses users?
Customers should go for regular eye checks with qualified eye care professionals every six to twelve months. Over time, vision and prescription needs may change, as well as the condition of the eyes so a regular eye check is a great way to help maintain your vision and eye health.
Your vision may change, but you don’t have to change the way you live life.
