If you don’t already know, Google Doodles are fun changes made to the Google logo on the homepage to celebrate or commemorate events, holidays and people. They can appear as unique artwork, animations, or even minigames.
This year, children aged seven to 17 stand a chance to see one of their own doodles on the Google Malaysia homepage as the Doodle 4 Google Malaysia art competition returns after a three-year absence.
In conjunction with Malaysia’s 60th National Day, the theme this year for the competition is “Celebrating Malaysia’s Diversity”. Entries will be divided into four age groups: seven to nine, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-17. Of the four category winners, only one will be chosen by the Doodlers team at Google’s Mountain View, California headquarters to take the coveted spot on the Google Malaysia homepage for Malaysia Day, which falls on 16 September.
Kids with art talent, this is your time to shine! The closing date for entries is 31 July, so get those doodling caps on! And if you get shortlisted, don’t forget that 7 August is when public voting begins. Click here to see a gallery of the entries in 2014.
