Storytelling Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet
The KL Shakespeare Players (KLSP) are known for their fantastic versions of Shakespearean plays, which they compress into one-hour showings making them ideal for children. Their aim is to demystify the Bard’s works and make it accessible and easy to understand. 'Romeo & Juliet' is the most well-know tragic love stories and this KLSP interactive version has been made age-appropriate so younger children can watch it. Shows will run from 27-28 October and tickets are priced at RM35.

Elephant conservation programme
This programme is a five-week Elephant Conservation Project by the Mad About Education Group. Children who sign up will learn about conservation, protection, translocation and the management of Asian elephants, as well as maintaining the environment to ensure these animals survive. Aimed at kids aged 10 to 17, the programme will be held every Saturday from 27 October to 24 November at the National Elephant Conservation Centre at Kuala Gandah. Spaces are limited and is priced at RM820 (transport and food included) with a 10% discount for siblings.

Zero Waste Talk For Kids with Yara
Yara Kerschot is an 11-year-old who follows a zero waste lifestyle with her family. They made the decision to go green and sustainable when they saw a video of a turtle getting a plastic straw extracted from its nostrils. The impact was real, and the family now consciously leads a zero waste life. Bring the kids to listen to Yara and be inspired to begin your zero waste journey as a family. The talk will be held on 6 October at the The Hive Bulk Foods in Bangsar.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
OPSTOPUS and The Story Book will present the very popular story of ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ on 13 and 20 October through a different perspective. These role-play sessions will focus on the story being translated visually so the kids understand better. After the storytelling, the instructors of OPSTOPUS will conduct science-based ‘wizarding’ activities, which will definitely be a hit with the kids! Places are available for RM190 for both sessions with a Harry Potter book or RM150 without the book. Suitable for kids aged seven to 11.

Upin & Ipin with the MPO
The characters from one of the most popular local animated series come to the MPO stage this month in a unique presentation. Upin and Ipin are a pair of mischievous five-year-old twins who leave their kampung to come to the big city. The concert will be held on 14 October, and will see the animation being projected onto a big screen on the stage while the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra provides the music with Naohisa Furusawa conducting. Tickets are priced at RM122, RM94, RM75 and RM47 and can be bought online.

Mix It Up! - Making Reading Fun with Racheal Kwacz
On 13 October, Child & Family Development specialist, Racheal Kwacz will be holding an educational session on how to encourage younger kids to read. By using the book ‘Mix It Up’ by Hervé Tullet, parents and kids will explore different ways to play and make reading come alive. The morning will start with tips to incorporate learning through play, followed by an interactive storytelling session. To end the morning, parents and kids will be making their very own DIY Sensory Calming Bottles and participants will get a copy of the book.
