Hilton Kuala Lumpur presents their Royal Midnight mooncake series encased in an elegant box featuring a lunar medallion and silver embroidered clouds on sleek navy blue background. This year’s Chynna Special is called Bulgarian Blush and is a heady combination of custard cream cheese, Bulgarian Rose petal jam and pine nuts enclosed in a delicate pink snow skin. Traditional baked choices include White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Red Bean Paste with Almond Flakes and Pandan Paste with Single Yolk. Snow Skin flavours include the famed Heavenly Gold (premium Musang King durian) and Blue Moon (Amaretto lotus paste with blueberry cheese Feuillantine). Choose from seven vibrant gift boxes from the Heavenly Gold Package to the Royal Midnight Traditional Baked.

This year also sees the Lunar Charms mooncake series being offered at the following hotels – Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Hilton Petaling Jaya, Hilton Kota Kinabalu, DoubleTree by Hilton Melaka and Hilton Garden Inn Puchong. This charming birdcage-inspired box comprises four tiers, bird and floral motifs and comes in gorgeous pink, red and blue. Choose from traditional baked mooncakes in popular flavours like White Lotus, Pandan Lotus, Red Bean and Black Sesame Lotus. There is also a premium selection with Durian Lotus and Dragon Fruit Lotus Paste being must-try choices.

This year, Concorde’s selection of classic baked and snow skin mooncakes will be complemented with  glittery glass globes. There are several sets to choose from that come with different sized globes. The 9-inch globe complements three different sets comprising four mooncakes. For example, you can get Golden Pandan Pure Lotus Single Yolk, Japanese Red Bean, Assorted Fruit Nuts and Yam Lotus Paste Single Yolk or four different types of snow skin (Red Bean, White Lotus, Pandan Lotus Single Yolk, Yam Lotus Single Yolk) for RM80nett per set. The hotel’s famous Snow skin Durian Musang King comes with a 9-inch globe and four mooncakes at RM168nett.

Sofitel’s baked and snow skin mooncakes are encased in a specially designed chic leather box that can be converted into a wine box and are excellent gifts. Handcrafted baked mooncakes retain tradition with flavours like Pure White Lotus, Pandan Single Yolk, White Lotus with Double Egg Yolk and the Classic Red Bean Paste. Innovative snow skin choices include the new Dragon Fruit with Blueberry Truffle, Black Charcoal with Cheese, Coffee Paste with Butter Cream and Pumpkin with Chocolate Truffle. The gift box is priced at RM198nett with your choice of four mooncakes, while Individual mooncakes are priced at RM36-38 depending on the flavour.

Celebrate with vibrant boxes in fuchsia and Tiffany blue from the Sheraton Petaling Jaya. There are three series to choose from with designs based on flowers – Peony, Plum Blossom and Tiffany Blossom. Each of these pretty boxes are priced at RM138 and come with four traditional baked mooncakes in Pure Lotus Paste, White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk, Baked Pandan Paste with Single Yolk and Baked Red Bean Paste. To celebrate the mid-Autumn season, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant Yue, two eight-course menus on offer with specialties like Roasted Chicken with Garlic, Steamed Golden Snapper and Vietnamese-style stir-fried Prawns.
