Flavours of Mexico In Malaysia IV

Taste the best of Mexican cuisine and drinks at selected restaurants from 9-13 October as part of the Mexican Embassy's cultural programme.

If the words ‘tostadas’, ‘enchiladas’ and ‘quesadillas’ get your mouth watering, this week is gastronomic heaven for you as the Flavours of Mexico programme returns to Malaysia.

The event kicked off with a special dinner co-hosted by the Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of Mexico, where Mexican Executive Chef Manuel Antonio Bernal Sanchez created a unique four-course menu to show off Mexican specialties such as vegetarian tortillas, classic Mexican soup and Mexican rice pudding.

Professor Datuk Chef Wan also became the first person to create and present a fusion Malaysian-Mexican dish for the occasion – fish stewed in tomato sambal belacan.

Most menus are available from 9-13 October except Casa Latina and Cacao Lab (8-15 October) and Sentidos Gastrobar – The Latin Grill (10-13 October).

Fresca Mexican Kitchen & Bar

This year, guest Chef Manuel Bernal will be hosting a Mexican cooking demo at Fresca’s Avenue K branch at 4pm 12 October, where he’ll be making shrimp cocktail, enchiladas verdes and rice pudding.

Casa Latina & Cacao Lab

The party goes on a bit longer at Casa Latina as the special Flavours of Mexico menu will continue being served over the weekend!

El Maiz

Besides the special menu offered below, El Maiz also has a happy hour promotion daily from 11am to 8pm, where drinks start from RM13 all through 9-13 October. There will also be a silent auction of a basket of Mexican products, which closes at 6.30pm, Friday the 13th.

Proceeds will be donated to the Mexican community affected by the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico City on 19 September.
