BEST GOLF EXPERIENCE: Saujana Golf & Country Club
The Saujana Golf & Country Club came about in 1983 when 400 acres of freehold plantation land was set aside with the idea to create two 18-hole courses, a clubhouse and accommodation.
The courses were designed by the renowned golf course architect, Ronald Fream, and the club opened in 1986. Eventually, it became one of the most popular courses in the region.
One of its two 18-hole Par 72 championship golf courses, The Palm Course, was voted the World’s 6th Toughest Golf Course by CNNGO.com in 2012, while The Bunga Raya Course earned a spot in Golf Digest’s Top 100 Best Courses Outside The USA in 2005.
Saujana Golf and Country Club has hosted nine Malaysian Opens for PGA Asian and European Tours, on top of other international tournaments.
Off the course, members have access to the Country Club’s top-notch facilities like the Olympic-size swimming pool, flood-lit outdoor tennis courts, a sauna and a pro shop. There is also a golf academy with two pros offering lessons to everyone from single handicappers to children.
