The ninth edition of The Best of Malaysia Awards saw record-breaking votes. With more than 30,000 total votes cast, the expatriate community in Malaysia has chosen their favourite hotels, resorts, spas, restaurants, experiences and attractions across 18 categories. The results were unveiled at the awards ceremony celebrating the finest in the travel and hospitality industry.
Presenting the awards held at Esperance Club, Fraser Business Park, were Ian Johnston, Editor of Expatriate Lifestyle, Bruce Dallas, Marketing Director of Guinness Anchor Breweries, a longtime partner of the awards, and guest of honour, the newly appointed British High Commissioner to Malaysia, H.E. Vicki Treadell CMG MVO.
In her first public engagement since recently taking office, H.E. Vicki Treadell said, “These are fantastic awards rightly recognising great talent. I am honoured to be a part of the ceremony.”
Joining the evening celebration this year were 400 of the top names from the travel and hospitality industry in Malaysia, including General Managers from the top hotels, resorts and spas. Bespoke trophies were presented to 18 winners while certificates were presented to 54 Excellence Award winners; all chosen from shortlists over a 13-week voting period until 1 October 2014 on www.expatriatelifestyle.com.
The Best of Malaysia Awards are organised yearly by Expatriate Lifestyle and are the biggest travel and hospitality awards. They are 100 per cent nominated and voted by a key community who invigorates the industry: well-travelled expatriates who live in Malaysia.
