Durian Outing @ Green Acres
Until 31 Aug
The king of fruits has had dividing opinions for the longest time; its pungent smell either attracting fans by the hordes or driving those less courageous away.
If you love durians, or if you have yet to try it, Green Acres has up for grabs a Durian Outing package priced at only RM50 per person (minimum 4 persons to a group) and RM10 per child below 12 years. The promotion begins this June and runs until August.
Guests who purchase the package will have access to Titi Serong Eco Lodge (an eco kampung house), its facilities and be treated to a durian buffet on the premise.
The feast is inclusive of all varieties of durian such as the Musang King, Ganja as well as Ang Bak Kia, Green Acres' signature durian among many others, depending on the availability of the various grades during the specified season.
Children who are not a fan of durians can munch on cookies or snacks which will be provided; there will also be a 3-feet deep dipping pool at the viewing deck and a hot drink to end the day with. If you prefer a no-frills trip to enjoy only the durian buffet at the Durian Collection Hut you can choose the Basic Durian Buffet package at RM25 per person (minimum 8 persons) and RM5 per child.
Green Acres is an organically maintained farm and matured orchard located in Balik Pulau, Penang. The farm has over 500 fruit trees, herbs, ginger and chili plants. It aims to promote a greener lifestyle and their homes are designed to be practical yet comfortable.
They are sustainably built with mostly natural and renewable materials sourced from the estate itself or locally within the state. Homes are restored from entire recycled wooden houses. Planks are sawn from its unproductive durian trees on site to make floorboards.
Green Acres itself has been 99% chemical free for the last 50 years except when it comes to treating the occassional sick tree, in which then chemicals are used sparingly.
Stay-over guests are welcome to visit the Titi Serong Eco Lodge and The Musang Loft Treehouse all year-round, the latter of which will be opening in July this year.
