Earth Hour @ Starwood Hotels

By spending an hour in the dark this Saturday, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel and The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa will join millions around the world to send a powerful message about a brighter future for the planet.

Both hotels will turn off their lights whilst implementing various other energy-saving measures in observance of Earth Hour - the global environmental awareness event created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Among the measures to be taken are turning off their exterior signage lighting, dimming or turning off non-essential interior lighting, using candlelight in appropriate public areas such as their restaurants and bars and using in-room voicemail messages and in-room television messages to inform guests about their Earth Hour initiatives.

Sheraton Imperial KL will be serving specially-concocted Earth Hour Grapefruit Mojitos and a variety of canapes at the poolside on Level 5.

Additionally, in support of Earth Hour, the award-winning Essence restaurant will serve a host of scrumptious dishes, charcoal-cooked (omitting the use of gas), at its dinner buffet spread.

Meanwhile at Langkawi, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa will be offering diners complimentary cocktails or mocktails at Tide Restaurant.

In addition to this, the resort’s associates housing compound will also go dark. Tiki torches will be used instead to light the pathways.

Support Earth Hour at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel or at The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa on 31 March 31, from 8.30 pm onwards.
