If an epic sunset is what you’re after then Bora Bora by Sunset is hands down one of the best places this side of Malaysia to view it at.

Tucked between Ferringhi Garden and Parkroyal Hotel in Penang, the bar - formerly known as Sunset Bistro - retains it trademark laid back charm but with more cosy corners for couples on a romantic evening out.

Exuding a mellow ambience that is typical of a beach side watering hole, Bora Bora covers a long stretch of cement pathways flanking a wooden platform from which you can catch an unobstructed view of the sun sinking into the horizon over the Andaman Sea.

Gauzy white curtains and paper lanterns add an understated touch of exotic charm. Reasonably priced drinks and a delectable spread of international and much-loved local staples continue to attract a steady stream of regulars; locals, tourists and expatriates alike.
