Sorbets, Juices and Smoothies

Fresh fruit being rich in fibre and vitamins is good for you, so having different ways of eating or drinking fruits makes it easier to get your daily requirements.

We are so privileged to be living in a country with an abundance of fresh fruit all year round, available daily at wet markets. It’s better to buy fresh so I would recommend about three trips a week to the wet market.

What better way to start the day than with a fresh juice or smoothie, it will give you a wide variety of nutrients. Depending on what fruits you choose you will get great benefits; for example papaya has excellent antioxidant properties and is good for digestion.

Sorbets are very refreshing, perfect as dessert served with fresh fruits or served between starters and main courses at dinner parties to refresh your palate. This is my favourite and can be presented in many ways—in shot glasses, in small bowls or served on frozen ice.

I recommend you experiment with your juicer or blender and try different variations. Adding a yogurt to your smoothies provides your daily dose of calcium.
