Recipe: Bal Arneson's Butter Chicken

Our final recipe from Bal Arneson, the host of Spice of Life with Bal Arneson and Spice Goddess is a healthy version of the creamy butter chicken (with no butter!) that is easy to prepare, and the mouth watering aroma of spices will fill your kitchen to tempt the guests.

INGREDIENTS
+ 2 tbs grapeseed oil 
+ 2 tbs chopped garlic 
+ 1 tbs chopped ginger 
+ 1 small red onion, chopped 
+ 2 tbs tomato paste 
+ 1 tbs cumin seeds 
+ 1 tbs garam masala 
+ 1 tbs brown sugar 
+ 1 tsp red chili flakes 
+ 1 tsp salt 
+ 1 tsp turmeric 
+ 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch chunks 
+ 1/4 cup low-fat yogurt 
+ 1/2 cup water
 
 
STEP ONE
Put a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the grapeseed oil. 
 
 
STEP TWO
When it starts to get hot, add the garlic, ginger and onions, and cook until the onions are golden, about 4 minutes. Add the tomato paste, cumin, garam masala, brown sugar, chili flakes, salt andturmeric, and cook for 2 minutes. 
 
 
STEP THREE
Add the chicken and stir well to coat. Stir in the yogurt and 1/2 cup water and cook until the chicken is done, 8 to 10 minutes. 
 
 
STEP FOUR
Let cool, and then shred the meat using a fork or your fingers.
