After-School Sesame Noodles

What’s the simplest meal to prepare when you have to pick up the kids from school and still have 300 other things to tick off on your to-do list?

The sauce for this sesame noodles can be prepared ahead and the only cooking you have to do is boiling the noodles.

Make a trip to the rotisserie if you want to add some protein to the meal. Once the kids are home, it’ll take just 5 minutes for the dish to be ready for the hungry ones.


+ 2 tbs soy sauce
+ 1/2 tsp rice vinegar
+ 1/2 tbs sesame oil
+ 1/2 sugar
+ 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
+ 1 – 2  tsp water
+ 140g udon or soba noodles
+ Toasted sesame seeds
Serves 2 
Mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar and garlic in a small bowl. Add one or two teaspoon water to the mixture, depending on the consistency you prefer.
Boil the noodles according to package directions. Toss noodles in the sauce and top with toasted sesame seeds.
