I HUNT good Thai green curry chicken like Tom hunts Jerry. So while I was out at Solaris Mont Kiara and saw a place with that tell-tale deep bowl and lightly oiled green sauce inside it, I bookmarked Asian Terrace and went back with my better half the next night. Of course, they have more than just green curry on the menu although I would have no problem if they didn't! They actually offer a comprehensive range of Thai and Vietnamese dishes. I tucked into a huge serving of crispy prawn rolls which arrived hot and barely had time to cool as I wolfed them down. My wife's sour chicken soup meanwhile was outstanding. Beware if you're not a fan of coconut as the soup's flavour owes a lot to the palm tree's furry friend. However, my wife couldn't get enough of it. She seriously contemplated going without a main course to have another bowl. She went on to have sea bass, which she graciously conceded was worth giving up the second bowl of soup for. It was steamed and served with chilli and lime juice and she also got steamed vegetables. As we sat outside under the awning the warm evening closed in around us in our cosy, rustic-yet-contemporary setting. So far so good. Now on to the main event. It would be lying to say that this is the best Thai green curry chicken in Malaysia, but it's not bad, not bad at all. In fact, I'd say it's very good. Okay, it's not the best I've had but it's up there. The gravy is bursting with flavour and it soaks perfectly into their delicious pineapple rice, of which the serving size is more than generous. You can't ask for more. Especially at this price; the whole meal came to
little more than RM100, which is amazing value. When we go back I've already earmarked the Miang Kam starter to share (if I can persuade my better half to forego the chicken and coconut soup), and I'd love to check out their tom yam and peanut curry with chicken. I can hardly wait! CHARLIE BURGE
