Fairview International School’s Higher Education and Career Fair 20134 Oct 2013
There was a frenzy of excitement in the air on the 27th of September 2013 as students, parents and teachers roamed the multi-purpose hall of Fairview International School Kuala Lumpur (KL) for the 3rd Annual Higher Education and Career Fair 2013. Among the exhibitors were top world ranking universities such as International Medical University, Singapore Management University (SMU), The University of Melbourne, The University of New South Wales, University of Southampton, University of Leeds, The University of Queensland, Monash University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Liverpool John Moores University and Sheffield Hallam University.

Over 300 students, parents and teaching staff drifted from booth to booth in the multi-purpose hall gaining first-hand information through each of the university representatives. Break-out talks and activities by renowned universities and education consultants took place simultaneously allowing for direct communication and time for Q & A. These activities and talks were organized for participating students not only to gather information from individual universities, but also to gain a deeper understanding regarding the application process and specific requirements to study abroad.
Fairview students from all three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes; Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (IBDP) were present to support the event as well as investigate what further education entails. Invited representatives from SMJK Confucian and SMK Puteri Titiwangsa were seen enthusiastically asking questions ranging from the initial application to accommodation and what life is like in a foreign country.
Dr Vincent Chian, the Director of Fairview’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) introduced the prestigious world-renowned pre-university programme to parents and students, announcing the provision of full and partial scholarships to outstanding and deserving pupils.
