May 23, La Bodega Lounge: Because we can literally have hundreds of people grace the magazines over the course of months, we thought it was high time for a party to celebrate our featured people. So, with the Guvnor of Bangsar, Edward Hyde, one of the '50 expats you should know' as well as on our Bangsar cover, kindly sponsoring wine and canapes as Brandthink took care of the Carlsberg beer, we invited the 50, along with the Bangsar people that were involved in the May issue and our 'Men we admire' for our June issue along for a chilled Sunday of drinks, good food and conversations at La Bodega Lounge. KL Oilman's Golf Day 2010

120 golfers of varying shapes, sizes and handicaps lined up on Friday April 16 for the third annual KL Oilman's Golf Day.

Organised by Bob Boyd and The Reach Group, the Oilman's Golf is a day for expatriates in the oil and gas industries to challenge each other on the course and try to raise the maximum amount for charity.

In the latter case, they smashed all previous records with a stunning RM30,000 going to a children's home in Chow Kit and a Breast Cancer charity, both worthy causes supported passionately by all the players.

On the course, the Texas Scramble format allowed the wheat and chaff a chance to co-exist and even flourish in some cases, although the challenging waterways and rolling hills of the beautiful Glenmarie Golf & Country Club course put many players in their place during the afternoon.

Even a fierce storm and heavy lightning couldn't dampen the spirits that ran late into the night for a very entertaining, amusing and well-lubricated prize giving ceremony that rounded off yet another successful event that we at Expatriate Lifestyle were proud to be media partner for.

INTER-SOCIETY GOLF TOURNAMENT 2010

Representatives from all over the world lined up on the fairways and greens of Bukit Unggul Golf Club on Sunday, April 11 as part of the popular Inter-Society Golf Tournament.

Players came from many of the largest expatriate associations including the St Andrew's, St David's, St George's, St Patrick's and MANZA, who were playing the Society Team Stableford format to ensure fairness of scoring and keep everyone interested.

The day, which Expatriate Lifestyle is proud to have been involved with as media partner, was a huge success with thousands raised and Selangor St Andrew's Society running out winners – which now makes it five wins out of six for the boys from North of the Border. They are yet to decide which charity will benefit from the money raised. For more details, check out www.expatriatelifestyle.com or your association website.
